Old House explores aspects of an
old family house, now sold, in its
setting of trees, water & sky. In the
family for 90 years, the summer
house saw many generations. Of
most interest was the sleeping
porch, seen from inside, outside, &
underneath, with its old hospital
beds & simple structure. Sometimes
I thought of the house & its
immediate surroundings as being
one organism, the exterior walls
porous & translucent. Experiments
with night-time reflections merge
inside & outside in mysterious ways.
The works suggest the
incompleteness of memory & the
transience of time.
