Travel & Wandering has played an
important role in my life and my art.
In particular, many different
landscapes have captured me. I
usually don’t draw on site. Most
often photo note-taking gives me
images to pursue in the studio. This
gallery samples gouaches from
Mongolia trekking, & monoprints
from both China travels & New
England wandering.
Most of these monoprints start
with a plate made of etched lines &
carborundum grits mixed with acrylic
medium. After printing with that
plate, I usually continue with the
print, adding successive additional
layers with transparent inks printed
from a plain plexi plate, finally
yielding one unique piece.
